BlackwatchTechnologies
Company

We build systems meant to outlast the people who commissioned them.

Blackwatch Technologies is a global software engineering, AI, and cloud consultancy. We work as an embedded team on the platforms our clients cannot afford to get wrong.

Our story

Founded on a specific frustration.

Blackwatch started in 2014 with four engineers who had spent the previous decade inside large consultancies watching the same pattern repeat: a senior team wins the work, a junior team delivers it, and the client discovers the difference somewhere around month five.

We built the firm around the opposite arrangement. The architect who scopes your engagement stays on it. Teams are small and senior. We turn down work we don’t think we’re right for, which costs us revenue and has been the single most important reason clients come back.

Eleven years on we’re 340 people across four delivery hubs, working with enterprises in healthcare, financial services, logistics, manufacturing, and technology. The arrangement hasn’t changed.

Principles

What we actually optimize for

These show up in how engagements run, not on a wall in the office.

Candor over comfort

We tell clients when a plan is wrong, when a rewrite shouldn't happen, and when the honest answer is that they don't need us. Consultants who agree with everything are expensive in ways that show up later.

Seniority, not pyramids

Median team experience is twelve years. We don't staff engagements with juniors supervised at a distance, because the architectural decisions that matter get made in the first six weeks.

Reversibility

Every migration step has a rehearsed way back. Every deployment can roll back. We optimize for the ability to undo, which is what makes moving quickly survivable.

Evidence over assertion

We instrument before changing things and hold out control groups where we can. We'd rather report a smaller number we can defend than a larger one we can't.

Transfer as a deliverable

Your engineers build alongside ours. An engagement that leaves your team unable to maintain the system has failed, whatever shipped.

Long horizons

We optimize for the system's fifth year, not its launch week. That occasionally means recommending the slower path, and we'll show our reasoning when we do.

Where we are

Four hubs, overlapping coverage.

Deliberately spread so an engagement always has working-hours overlap with its client.
